Ocean Governance is offered within the School of Marine Engineering at Deep Blue. The course delivers a structured combination of theoretical foundations and applied practice, developed by serving practitioners and academic faculty with extensive experience in the maritime sector. Candidates build the technical understanding, professional judgement, and regulatory awareness expected of a competent maritime professional in this discipline.
This programme is part of a structured route to a Certificate of Competency (CoC) at sea. Studies can be completed at our Africa campus and/or our Asia campus.
Marine Engineering programme — thermodynamics, propulsion, electrical, automation.
We arrange the required onboard cadetship/training berth so you can complete the sea-time IMO/STCW demands.
Sit EOOW oral exams and obtain Class IV Engineer CoC. Progress to 2nd Engineer & Chief Engineer.

Cadetship berths, training records, and assessor sign-off are arranged through our shipping partners — so you actually finish the path and become a verified Marine Officer or Marine Engineer at sea, not just a graduate on paper.
Indicative module breakdown — actual delivery is adapted to the audience and operational context.
Continuous assessment through written tests, practical / simulator exercises where applicable, and a final examination. Candidates must achieve the academy's minimum pass standard.
Successful candidates receive a Deep Blue certificate of completion. Where the course leads to a statutory certificate, it is issued in accordance with the relevant flag-state and IMO requirements.
